HP Announces Major Industrial Expansion at RAPID + TCT 2026

Key Highlights:

  • HP Multi Jet Fusion 1200: A new, compact industrial system designed to bring MJF technology directly into engineering workspaces with a 12-liter build volume.

  • HP Jet Fusion 5600 Series Enhancements: A new “High Productivity” mode increasing output by 20% and the introduction of Dual Tone technology (white and grey) for integrated textures and labeling.

  • Expanded Metal Jet Ecosystem: New qualification of high-conductivity Copper, nickel-based superalloys (M247LC) for aerospace, and Tungsten Carbide for tooling.

  • HP Industrial Filament 600 HT: Now generally available for high-temperature applications in aerospace, automotive, and medical sectors.

A Decade of Innovation

Marking ten years in the industry, HP announced these developments to lower barriers to adoption and enable scaling from prototyping to full production. The focus remains on removing complexity and lowering the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for manufacturers.

Advancing Polymer Production

The Jet Fusion 5600 series now supports PA 12 Glass Beads, enabling the production of stiff, dimensionally stable parts at a low cost. Additionally, the new Dual Tone technology (available late 2026) allows for high-fidelity markings and QR codes to be printed directly onto functional parts using HP’s unique agent capabilities.

Industrial Performance in a Compact Format

The HP MJF 1200 provides a scalable entry point into the MJF ecosystem. Early testers, including Anima Design and LualdiLabs, highlighted the system’s ability to deliver industrial-grade parts in a smaller footprint, allowing clinicians and engineers to validate designs closer to the point of need. The full solution is expected in early 2027.

High-Temperature & Metal Solutions

  • Filament Printing: The 600 HT printer allows for the reliable processing of high-temperature polymers, significantly reducing time-to-market for R&D teams.

  • Metal Powder Management: HP has collaborated with Volkmann GmbH to introduce the vPort, a contained powder management system for the Metal Jet S100, improving operational safety and efficiency in metal binder jetting workflows.

“By lowering cost per part and simplifying workflows, we are making it easier for customers to adopt additive manufacturing and scale it across new applications.” — Alex Moñino, SVP and GM, HP Additive Manufacturing Solutions.

Industry Impact: These developments signify a shift toward “manufacturing closer to innovation,” giving engineers production-grade tools in more flexible, compact, and cost-effective formats.
