Brohl Wellpappe Strengthens Production with New Inline Gluing Machine

A Strategic Investment in Automation for 2025

Brohl Wellpappe Packaging & Display has installed a new Lamina Glueline at its Niederzier facility, operational since early 2025. The site specializes in producing corrugated cardboard and cardboard displays using offset, flexographic, and digital printing methods.

Advanced Capabilities Designed for Precision and Flexibility

The fully automatic inline gluing machine supports both hot and cold glue application and is built to handle one- and two-piece packaging and display formats. A height-adjustable pressing station has been incorporated to ensure consistent quality across production runs. The machine will primarily be used for gluing two-piece display sockets and bodies.

Efficiency Gains in a Challenging Labour Market

Plant Manager Michael Günter highlighted the operational benefits of the investment: “The new gluing machine allows us to achieve a higher output per hour with fewer staff. This is a clear advantage, especially in times of skilled labor shortages and rising energy costs. In addition, our delivery times are getting shorter.”

The upgrade reflects Brohl Wellpappe’s broader commitment to automation as a practical response to industry-wide pressures — reducing dependency on manual labour while improving throughput and customer lead times.
