IBERICA AG S.A. AT DRUPA 2016
Apr 15, 2016

Manufacturer of high quality die-cutting equipment IBERICA AG will be exhibiting two of their machines in two locations at Drupa in Dusseldorf. The launch of the new format I-PRESS K 106 with blanking facility will be fully operational on their parent company stand Cerutti Group (16 B03). The I-PRESS K 106 features Optical Print Mark Register. OPMR is a system which detects a printed mark on the grip and side edges of the sheet using a combination of cameras and sensors. The front lays are automatically adjusted to give perfect die-cut register to print. Similarly the lateral OPMR system for the side-lay, detects the printed mark and the sheet is automatically registered accordingly. The press can still be used conventionally whereby the edges of the sheet are detected. Settings for the OPMR and many other features are carried out through the user friendly touch screen.
The side-lay on the I-PRESS Series is designed to pull all materials within the specification including corrugated board. This gives improved accuracy of register by never having to use a push lay. Motorised movement of front lays through the touch screen and a PLC with memory enables the operator to save some settings leading to a reduction in make-ready time on repeat jobs.
All IBERICA models are equipped with a new design main cam giving an increase in production speed and a reduction of nicks in every job. With this new main cam we obtain a smoother transport of the gripper bars and a reduction of the abruptness of the acceleration and the stop of the gripper bars achieving a perfect movement free of vibrations.
All of IBERICA’s blanking machines feature, as standard, automatic chain tensioners. The gripper chains are tensioned automatically by an air/oil converter. This system allows for higher running speeds with increased accuracy of register and a smoother, quieter operation. The life of the chains is also increased due to a reduction in peak effort on the chains.
IBERICA’s continued collaboration with Omega gluers is cemented with an OPTIMA 106 in full operation on the Duran Machinery stand. The OPTIMA model incorporates innovations for ease of handling yet has less automation giving a more competitively priced unit whilst still retaining IBERICA’s renowned build strength, quality and performance for increased productivity. The press includes many of the operator friendly and make-ready time saving features as those of the higher specified I-PRESS Series including automatic opening of section windows, thin plate fixing without screws etc.
